Doris Claypool

July 1, 1931 - May 20, 2014

Doris Imogene “Emma” Claypool aged 82 of Scottville, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Emma was born on July 1, 1931 in Grand Blanc, the daughter of Reuben and Bernice (DeHoff) Potter, graduated from Clarkston High School in 1949, and attended Harper School of Nursing. She married Robert Arthur Trim, who preceded her in death, and on August 29, 1959, married Melvin Claypool. They have celebrated 54 blessed years together. Emma was also preceded in death by her stepson Dick Claypool. Emma enjoyed many hobbies through the years including gardening, antiquing, music and reading; but the constant joy and delight for Emma was her devotion and love for the Lord Jesus and her family. She was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church and enjoyed studying her Bible, praying for and spending time with her wonderful family and friends whom she loved so dearly. Along with her husband Melvin, Emma will be greatly missed by her children Robert (Carol) Trim of Grand Rapids, William (Judy) Trim of Ludington, Dr. Lori Claypool of Jefferson City, MO, Penny (Bill) Deming of Fenton, Ralph (Debbie) Claypool of Shelby Township, Darlene (Jeff) Dawson of St Johns, 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great, great-grandchildren, her brothers Albert (Elsie) Potter of Pontiac, and Capp (Doris) Potter of Grand Blanc, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held for Emma at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 24 at the Victory Baptist Church, with Pastor Darrell Storvik officiating. Burial will take place at South Victory Cemetery. Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation Saturday morning from 10:00 am until time of services at the church. Those who wish to make contributions are asked to consider the Frank Distad family who are missionaries in Wisconsin with American Fellowship Missions, envelopes will be available at the church.
