Eleanor Elizabeth "Corky" Wagner, aged 77 of Marquette, formerly of Scottville, died on Sunday morning, August 9, 2009 at her home. Eleanor was born on May 13, 1932 in Scottville, the daughter of Ernest W. and Marian A. (Gulembo) Courtland, and graduated from Custer High School with the class of 1949. On September 15, 1950, she married Wilbert C. Wagner in Scottville, and they have celebrated almost 59 years together. Eleanor had many passions which included reading, working in her flower garden, quilting, and many different types of craft work. She collected swan figurines, and looked forward to spending her Saturday’s shopping at the Salvation Army or St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores. She often entered sweepstakes drawings and had great luck winning a new pickup truck, camping equipment, dishes, and cash. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Helen Shedina, and Florence Terryn; and her brother Fred Courtland. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Wilbert; her children Debra E. (John) Eibler, Charles D. (Sarah) Wagner, Cynthia J. (Edward) LaMere, Carl R. (Paula) Wagner, and Samuel J. Wagner; her beloved grandchildren Christina, Stephanie, Amy, and Elizabeth; 2 step-grandchildren and 1 step great-grandchild; her brothers and sisters William (Betty) Courtland, Elmer (Lillian) Courtland, Phyllis (Paul) Ruzgis, John Courtland, and JoAnne (Robert) Borden; and many nieces and nephews.
