OBITUARY:Henry George Mishler, aged 63 of Branch passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Henry was born on May 2, 1947 in Cadillac to Elmer and Mary (Helsel) Mishler, and grew up in the Cadillac area. He served his country during the Vietnam Conflict with the United States Army, and on January 29, 1972 he married Lois Bosack in Cadillac. They have celebrated 38 years together. Henry worked as a lumberman throughout the area, and raised hogs, hauled scrap iron, and always enjoyed working on Christmas tree farms. In his leisure time, he could often be seen driving through the countryside, looking for yard sales, or helping out the Amish by providing a ride here and there. He enjoyed keeping in touch with his family and friends, mostly on his cell phone, and will be remembered for his great character. Henry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Wanda Park. He will be greatly missed by his wife Lois; his children Jennifer (Gordon) MacDougall of Ludington, Nancy (Chris) Engfer of Gaylord, Johnathon Mishler, and Sally Ann Mishler both of Branch; his beloved grandchildren Stephen Mishler, Megan Engfer, Anthony Lara, Tyler Engfer, Bruce Lara, Henry and Emma MacDougall, and one granddaughter coming soon; his brothers Owen, Peter, Roger, and Elmer Mishler; and his sisters Mary Jane Langworthy, Hazel Hamilton, Betty Danderoef, and Edith Bell; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held for Henry at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 5 at the Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville, with his friend the Rev. Norman Letsinger officiating. Friends may meet with his family for a time of visitation on Monday from 12:00 noon until time of services at the funeral home. Those who wish to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the American Heart Association.
