Judith May Winn

July 11, 1939 - November 17, 2017

Judith Barton Winn, who graced our life for 78 years, left this world peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2017. Judy was born in Mason County, the daughter of Isaac and Margaret (Blossom) Barton on July 11, 1939. She attended Scottville Schools starting in kindergarten and graduating with the class of 1957 and received her teaching certificate, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Central Michigan University in 1961. Judy worked in the Garden City, MI school system before teaching in the overseas school system with the Department of Defense in both Spain and Turkey. During her life, Judy had many interests including painting, pottery, stained glass, photography, knitting, gardening, and singing in the church choir. A special thanks to the staff of Ludington Woods for the care of a special person. Judy will always be loved and remembered by her husband Kirtley Winn of Scottville, daughter Virginia Barton “Ginger” Winn and granddaughter Kimberly Carlson of Marquette. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Trudith Ann Barton. Judith will be missed by all that knew her. An End of Life service will be celebrated for Judith at 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 30 at the Scottville United Methodist Church. Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Thursday from 11:00 am until time of service at the church. Those who wish to remember Judy with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Choir at Scottville United Methodist Church.
