OBITUARY:Pauline Florence Thomas, aged 97 of Fountain, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Tendercare of Ludington. Pauline was born on July 17, 1913 in Free Soil to George and Anna Dufon, and married Edward Thomas on June 24, 1939. They celebrated 66 years together before Edward preceded her in death on September 13, 2005. Pauline was a lifelong member of St. John Cantius Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. In her later years she raised and sold Canaries, but mostly enjoyed caring for her beloved husband Edward.She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Julia Olenchak, Marie Omalaske, Amelia Shereda, Cecelia Maue, Rose Saum, and Anna Koszeniewski; her brothers Leo, Martin, John, Henry, and Stanley Dufon; her step-sister Anne Bigelow; and her step-brother Frank Syranmski. Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Leonard Tomaszewski of Fountain; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 22 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Free Soil, with Rev. Dennis O’Donnell as celebrant. Burial will follow at the St. John Cantius Cemetery. Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Monday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Those who wish to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider St. John Cantius Church or Hospice of Michigan – Mason County.
