Peggy Mae Nevins

May 6, 1929 - March 2, 2017

Peggy Mae Nevins aged 87 of Wyoming, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Peggy was born on May 6, 1929 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Lawrence and Laura (Leach) Yost, and graduated from Grandville High School in 1947. She married Donald O. Nevins on March 25, 1949 and he preceded Peggy in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her grandson Brad Doane, her brothers Harold, Howard, and Jack Yost, and her sisters Gertrude Michalek, Bertha Proctor, June DeVries, and Norma Taber. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her children Nancy (Dale) Sneller, Beverly (Jack) VanderSloot, and Donna (James) Doane, her grandchildren Richard (Jeri) Sneller, Maria (Glenn) Rhodes, Amy (Curtis) Martin, Angela VanderSloot, Tracy Wright (fiancé Ben Enbody), and Tyler Doane, 7 great-granchildren, her sisters-in-law Barb Yost, Marilyn Hardy, and Carolyn (Harvey) Gort, her brothers-in-law George (Sue) Nevins, and Bob (Sandy) Nevins, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held for Peggy at 11:00 am on Monday, March 6 at Banner of Christ Church in Byron Center with Rev. Michael Caley officiating. Burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, and one hour prior to services at church on Monday. Those who wish to make a memorial donation are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Association.
