Sorry for the typo, I certainly know the Buter family name. I'm just not used to overriding the computers spelling prompts. Mary Vanderwest Sandberg
My condolences to the Buyer family, his wife, children, and sister Marilyn, sister-in-law Minnie, and Bud and Luann Fisher, and niece (?) Char Peterman, in the loss of Harvey.
It has been years, but I have many fond memories of the old Oak Avenue neighborhood, and the Buyer family. What a wonderful family. My parents knew Harvey's parents and we knew all the boys and girls in the family. I remember walking to and from Angell school past the house on the corner of Scott street.
Minnie, your husband Art built my sister Wilma Brusky' s house on Gladstone Dr. The brothers also did the house rafters for my brother Richard and Melvin houses back in 1954. I was recently telling my niece Nancy (Richard's daughter) about the Buyer family;as she now lives in her parents home on Hansen, off Giles. In addition, I Just sold Wlima' s house which they built in 1964. Fifty years later it past FHA inspection without any problems; that says alot about their talent and integrity.
I almost forgot about Harvey working at Clarke Floor with my late husband Don Sandberg. Of course he also worked with Bud Fisher. I remember a Christmas party at Bud and Luann' s. And I vaguely remember seeing Harvey's old Model A.
What great memories! Again, sorry for your loss, Harvey was a wonderful man.
Best thoughts and prayers, Mary Vanderwest Sandberg, Whitehall, Mi
Harvey and my husband, Don Gohn became good friends as they volunteered at White Pine Village together. They shared a lot, laughed and kidded and were committed to their helping out at the village. Don thought a lot of Harvey. My sympathies and prayers are with Harvey's family. Lynne Gohn
