Ann Petroski's Obituary
Mrs. Ann Petroski, aged 89 of Irons, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee. Ann was born on July 21, 1918 in Illinois, the daughter of George and Sophie (Krolich) Komar, and was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Andrew Zdebski in 1965, and Stanley Petroski in 1993, her son Andrew G. Zdebski on April 21, 2006, her sisters Blanche and Julia, and her brother Steve Komar. Ann owned and operated Ski’s Tavern in Baldwin for over 20 years, before purchasing and operating the Elk Tavern in Irons for 7 years. She enjoyed spending her free time working in her garden and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her sons James (Alice) Zdebski of Gould City, Michigan, and Stephan W. Zdebski of Irons; her daughter-in-law Marilyn Zdebski of Irons; her grandchildren Diane Campbell of Williamsburg, Cathy (Gerald) Maddasion of Fife Lake, James (Amy Jo) Zdebski of Engadine, Kristie (Roger) Stumbrie of Irons, Jeffrey (Li Zanne) Zdebski of Norway, Michigan, Ronnie (Larry) Lampreht of Albany, Oregon, and Sr. Airman Stephan Jeffrey Zdebski of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Holland; 8 great-grandchildren; her sister Josephine (John) Michelac of Baldwin, and many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ann at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 19 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Irons with Rev. Dennis O’Donnell as celebrant. Burial will take place at Cherry Valley Cemetery in Nirvana. Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.
