Anthony C. Razminas' Obituary
Anthony C. Razminas, aged 83 of Longfellow Towers in Ludington, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Anthony was born on June 7, 1924 to Mathias and Petronella (Elvick) Razminas, and served his country at the end of World War II with the Army Air Corps in the Philippines. On December 30, 1949, he married Loretta Ruth Wever at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer, and they celebrated 55 years together before Loretta preceded him in death on October 31, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Bruno and Walter Razminas. Anthony began working delivering fuel oil to many residents in Mason County, and also served as a sewing machine repairman for Singer Corp. He was employed by FloraCraft in Ludington as a truck driver, eventually moving to Arkansas in 1971 to manage their Waldo plant. Anthony retired from FloraCraft after 34 years of service, and he and Loretta returned to Mason County in 1997. He was a tireless worker, who overcame the disability of losing a lung from Tuberculosis at a young age. He did not let his disability slow him down, and was only inspired to work harder as his Lithuanian heritage had taught. Anthony was a proud member of the Custer Gold Bar VFW Post 5096, and St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington. He was an unofficial historian of Mason County, and would enjoy recalling the many friends and people he had met from his days as a delivery and serviceman throughout the area. Anthony loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by his son Michael and wife Diane of Kawkawlin; his granddaughters Melissa and Samantha; his sister-in-law Valeria Razminas of Ludington, and several nieces and nephews.
