Beatrice Pauline Riffle's Obituary
Beatrice Pauline Riffle age 97 of Ludington, passed away on November 26, 2024. Beatrice was born April 3, 1927 in Fountain, the daughter of Charles and Bessie (Mendenhall) Riffle. She attended Fountain Elementary School through grade 10 and finished her high school education at Ludington High School, graduating with the class of 1948. She later attended night classes at West Shore Community College. Beatrice was a longtime member of Ludington Methodist Church and served as usher and greeter.
Beatrice worked at the Star Watch Co., the J.C. Penny Store in Ludington and in the offices of Thompson Cabinet Co. from which she retired. She loved traveling. Two of her favorites were the Cruise to Nassau, Bahamas and the New York Fair in 1964. She also loved walking, gardening and yard work.
Beatrice is survived by her sister-in-law Ruth Riffle of Custer along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her special friend Raymond Polcin; her sisters Beulah Marrison, Nina Riffle, Thelma Stark, Glendora Ray, Betty Courtland, Bessie Marguerite Renwick and Corrine Lavas; her brothers Russell, Thurman, Roger, H.B. “Bud”, Charles, James Hershal, and Curtis.
A special thank you to nephew Ron Ray his wife Jan and their family for the many years of helping Beatrice live the independent life she desired till age 93.
The family would also like to thank the wonderful staffs of Ludington Woods Living Center and Hospice of Michigan for the excellent and compassionate care for Beatrice in her final stage of life on this earth.
In accordance with Beatrice’s wishes, there will be no funeral. Interment will be in Fountain Cemetery.
