Betty Lundquist's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Ann Lundquist, aged 69 of Custer, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday morning, November 27, 2008. Betty was born on March 27, 1939 in Ludington to John and Bernice (Budvit) Winslow, and graduated from Scottville High School with the Class of 1957. On August 19, 1961 she married Donald Lundquist at St. Mary‘s Catholic Church in Custer, and they celebrated 47 years together. Betty worked as a bookkeeper at Lundquist’s Furniture in Scottville for the past 25 years, and rarely missed Wednesday night bingo at the Scottville Optimist Hall. She and Don enjoyed traveling all over the United States, especially to Branson, and Betty also enjoyed her trips to the casino with friends. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and deeply loved her children and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald, her children Jeffrey (Beth) Lundquist of Hamilton and Jody (Patrick) Reid of Jenison; her grandchildren Blake and Jordan Reid and Hannah Lundquist; her mother-in-law Bernice Lundquist of Ludington, and brothers- and sisters-in law Richard (Janet) Lundquist of Custer, Mary Nichols of Wyoming, Ronald (Marilyn) Lundquist of Winter Haven, FL and Carol Lundquist of Lamont, as well as several nieces and nephews.A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Betty at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer, with Rev. Johnson Pappusamy as celebrant. Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Sunday afternoon from 2-5 PM at the Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville.
