Betty G. O'Donegan's Obituary
OBITUARY:Mrs. Betty G. (Jones) O’Donegan, age 91, of Irons, passed away at her home on Friday, November 25, 2011. Betty was born November 18, 1920 in Alpena, MI to William & Nettie (Adams) Sloan. She graduated from Alpena High School and attended Alpena Teacher’s College and Ferris State College. Betty first moved to Irons in 1945 and then life’s travels took her to Florida in 1969. She moved back to Michigan in 1976 and lived in Jenison for several years, then retired to Big Bass Lake in 1979. Betty was a member of Faith Fellowship Church and was heavily involved in the ministries of the church. Betty’s greatest passion was her family and her many lifelong friends. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Sandy (Jack) Roy of Cadillac, Sherry Falco of Spring Hill, FL, Gerri Jacques of Grand Blanc, Gail (Tom) Carlson of Spring Lake, Carol (Steve) Saladin of Reed City, and Cathy (Ted) Fairbanks of Wellston; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.A Memorial Service will be held for Betty at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Faith Fellowship Church in Irons. Those who wish to make a gift in Betty’s memory are asked to consider the Salvation Army.
