Bonnie Jean Malkowski's Obituary
Bonnie Jean Malkowski aged 82 of Scottville joined the choir of Angels on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Bonnie was born on February 18, 1935 in Reyno, Arkansas, the daughter of Ercell and Ora (Shockley) Tyler, and married Edward L. Malkowski on August 30, 1958. They have celebrated 59 years together by each other’s side.
Bonnie earned her certificate and Flight Attendant Wings from the Flight Training Institute in Minneapolis, MN in 1955 and worked as a Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines and American Airlines until her marriage to Ed. After moving to Scottville, she worked as a Teacher’s Aid for Mason County Central Schools with the Riverton Migrant Program. She was an active member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Scottville and was a member of the St. Helena Altar Society. Currently, she and Ed have enjoyed being members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer. Bonnie was also a member of the Scottville Literary Club and could usually be spotted working in her yard, caring for her beautiful flower gardens. She possessed a kind and supportive spirit and was often described in her family as being the “Angel among us.” Bonnie always looked for ways to make people happy and found her greatest joy filling her home with the wonderful smells from her baking and cooking, and loved being a wife and mother.
Bonnie will be greatly missed by her husband Ed, her sons Mike and wife Mary, and Greg and wife Lori, all of Dallas, TX, her grandchildren Justin (Shelley) Malkowski, Tyler (Valeria) Malkowski, Mallory (Brad) Dickson, Beanna Malkowski (fiancé Brent Moss), her great-grandchildren Austin and Jordon Malkowski, and Nella Dickson, her sisters Wanda Harris of Springfield, MO, and Frances (Kip) Edwards of Corning, AR.
The Funeral Mass will be held for Bonnie at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 26 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer with Rev. Dan DePew presiding. Burial will take place at St. John Cantius Cemetery in Free Soil. Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Thursday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 am and immediately following Mass at the church. Those who wish to remember Bonnie with a memorial donation are asked to consider St. Mary’s Church.
