Brandon McVicker's Obituary
OBITUARY:Brandon Mathew McVicker, aged 23 of Fountain, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Spectrum Health – Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids, surrounded by his family. Brandon was born on August 10, 1988 in Ludington to Drew and Roberta “Bobbi” (Smith) McVicker, and lived his entire life in Mason County. He graduated from Mason County Eastern High School with the class of 2007, and earned his Associates Degree in Applied Arts and Science and Welding Technologies from West Shore Community College in 2011. He was currently employed as a welder for Union Tank Car Rail Services in Ludington. He was a lifelong member of Scottville United Methodist Church, and served his community as a firefighter for Custer Volunteer Fire Department, and as Captain of the Branch Township Fire Department. Brandon filled his life with fun at every possible moment through hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles on road and trails, and customizing Jeeps for trail and dune riding. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Charles “Ray” Smith. Brandon will be greatly missed by his parents Drew and Bobbi McVicker, his brother Luke, the love of his life Chelsea Lehrbass, his maternal grandmother Allie Smith of Sebring, Florida, his paternal grandparents Mervin and Donna Jean McVicker of Fountain, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held for Brandon on Sunday, October 30 at 3:00 PM at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ludington with his pastor, Rev. Jack Conklin, and his longtime family friend Rev. Norm Letsinger officiating. Burial with honors will follow at Bachelor Cemetery in Fountain. There will be a time of viewing for friends and family on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 pm until time of services at the church. Brandon’s family requests donations be made for AML Research, to help discover treatment for this terrible disease. Donations may be made in care of the McVicker family.
