Colleen Alter's Obituary
Mrs. Colleen Alter, aged 83 of Fountain, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at her home. Colleen was born on December 15, 1924 in Detroit to Isaac and Ann Sylvia (Waldman) Vandercook. She married Allen D. Alter on October 4, 1969 in Monroe, and they moved to the Fountain area in 1994. Along with her husband of 39 years Allen, Colleen will be remembered by her beloved children David Alan Kelly, and Nancy D. Polokovich both of Monroe, Barbara Maureen and Verlin Sweatt of Temperance; her stepchildren Mark Allen Alter,and Michael D. Alter both of Alabama, Kelly Ann Richards of Michigan, and Shelley Jean Price of Nevada; many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister Elaine and Fred Piercey. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Richard Isaac Vandercook.
