Mrs. Delores Irene Luomala, aged 74 of Scottville, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Ludington. Delores was born on July 18, 1933 in Lansing to James and Winnie Mae (Gott) Lewis, and graduated from Mason County Central Schools. On March 30, 1963, she married Donald W. Luomala in Hazel Park, and they have celebrated 45 years together. Delores worked many years for Star Watchcase, and LDI in Ludington, at Stokely’s Cannery, and for Sue Pettipren at the Dairy Barn in Scottville. She loved to hunt for bargains at yard sales, and was always planning the next family event. She was a Life member of the Custer Gold Bar VFW Post 5096 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Scottville. Delores went out of her way to help others in need, especially her family, putting their needs before her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughters Gabriella and Scarlet Ratliff, and her brothers and sisters Arbutus Ratkov, Beatrice Lenz, Winona Van Atta, Jack Lewis, and Marjorie Lewis. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Donald, her children Joe Burgett of Ludington, Robin DuPerron of Kenai, Alaska, and Sonja (James) Ratliff of Scottville; her beloved grandchildren Joseph Burgett, Neal, Kristopher, Debra, and DaNeen DuPerron, Anthony and Izeck Ratliff; many precious great-grandchildren; her brother Jim (Cel) Lewis of Madison Heights; and many nieces and nephews.
