Donnette Marie Vasquez-Vogt age 49 of Scottville, formerly of Lyons, MI passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 after a courageous battle against cancer. Donnette was born on July 29, 1973 in St. Johns, MI, the daughter of Crecensio “Chris” and Marjorie (Jackson) Vasquez and graduated from Ionia High School with the class of 1991, and furthered her education at Montcalm Community College. On February 14, 2000, she married William “Bill” Vogt Sr. and they have celebrated 23 years together.
Donnette loved being a Mom to her three sons Will, Samuel, and Zachary. When they were involved in Boy Scouts and school events, Donnette would be there to help out and often capture the moments with photography. She was a wonderful photographer and along with her boy’s activities, she would photograph many other community events, especially the Purple Cancer events for the Ionia Awareness group. Donnette also enjoyed scrapbooking, camping with her family, and watching Detroit Tigers Baseball. She loved to teach Sunday school at church and had a profound love of God and his teachings. Bible scriptures brought her a great sense of peace and joy. He says “Be Still and Know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10
Along with her husband Bill, Donette will be greatly missed by her sons William “Will” Jr., Samuel, and Zachary; her beloved daughter-in-law Cora who is carrying their first grandchild Carter Vogt; her parents Chris and Marge Vasquez; her brothers Cody (Michelle) Vasquez, Steven (Stacey) Vasquez; her sister Belinda (Tom) Cadena; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins all of whom she loved dearly.
