Eunice Marie Schneider's Obituary
Eunice Marie Schneider, aged 88 of Irons, passed away in the loving arms of her husband on Saturday, December 19, 2009. Eunice was born on July 13, 1921 in Detroit, the daughter of George and Hazel (Sherman) Pickett, and graduated from Breckenridge High School. On August 23, 1947, she married Gordon Schneider at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, and they have celebrated 62 wonderful years together. Eunice worked 25 years for the Lear Siegler Company in Grand Rapids, retiring in 1971. Following Gordon’s retirement from General Motors, they moved to Irons in 1983, and have been faithful members of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, where Eunice was a member of the Altar Society, and sang in the church choir. She loved spending time fishing with and caring for her beloved Gordon, and always looked forward to getting together with friends. She and Gordon were also longtime members of the Peacock Senior Center. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers George, Gene, and Daniel Pickett; her sisters their husbands Phoebe and Malcolm Quidort, and Elinor and Robert Brown; her brother-in-law and his wife Earl and Emma Schneider; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Schneider. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Gordon; her sisters-in-law Donna Pickett of Florida, Meryl Pickett of Arizona, and Chris Pickett of Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
