GILFORD'S OBITUARY:Gilford F. McCormick, 87, of Fountain, peacefully went to be with his Lord at his home with family by his side Monday, Oct. 3.Gilford was born June 7, 1924 in Walhalla, the son of Fred and Pearl McCormick. He married Merretta Campbell on April 8, 1951.Gilford was employed for 30-plus years at Reynolds Box Sawmill and also farming which he loved very much.He is survived by his loving wife, Merretta McCormick, and son, Wilford (Crystal) McCormick of Fountain. He had two grandsons, Jesse and Josh McCormick of Fountain; also his sister, Clarice Krupinski of Ludington; and sister-in-law Beatrice McCormick of Fountain; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerald McCormick, and sister, Cleobelle Reene.Services will be held at Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 with visitation at noon, one hour prior to the service.
