I have not looked up the Ludington Daily News for months and today when I logged in I noticed that Helen Tyndall' had passed away - it must have been fate.
Helen Tyndall changed my life as a second grader at Foster School - she then moved with me to third grade - two years of the most amazing teacher a boy could ever hope for.
I did not speak clearly - to fast - and could not write properly. She worked with me after school to write slowly and speak as slowly as I wrote. To pronounce worded correctly and to speak clearly. It worked -graduated from Ludington High, the University of Oregon, married with two children and today I am a very successful banker - all thanks to her.
No special ed classes - just the love and caring of a very special teacher.
I have told hundreds over the years how Helen Tyndall changed my life. She touched many more lives I am sure.
Thank you Helen - you were my savior.
