Ida Lucille Canfield's Obituary
Ida “Lucy” Canfield, aged 74 of Baldwin passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. Ida was born on March 28, 1940 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Glen and Caroline Vogel, and married Rodney W. Canfield in 1959, in Grand Rapids. They have celebrated 55 years together.
Ida worked various jobs over the years but enjoyed her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother the most. She enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers, was an avid reader, and was a faithful Tony Stewart fan in NASCAR. She also looked forward to walking and exercising with her friends as part of a workout group every week.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Leroy Vogel. She will be greatly missed by her husband Rodney, her children Patricia & Bruce Houseman of Howard City, Timothy & Julie Canfield of Baldwin, Shelly & Chris Swartz of Hesperia, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, her brother Glen & Judy Vogel of Baldwin, her sisters Frances & Jerry Fein, Josephine & John Hamilton, and Susan & Ron Rozeveld all of Grand Rapids, and several nieces & nephews.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Her family will hold private services for her next spring. There will be no funeral home visitation.
