Jason Ryan VanSlooten's Obituary
Jason Ryan Van Slooten aged 44 of Freesoil, passed away on November 9, 2020 after a courageous fight with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his passing. Jason was preceded in death by his mother Kayla Sue Van Slooten and his twin brother Joshua Dale Van Slooten.
He is survived by the “love of his life” and wife Carrie Van Slooten, his children Justin and Chance Stout, Johnathon Stout and Ryan Van Slooten, his sister Jennifer Van Slooten-Portugal, his in-laws Warren and Debbie Klukos, and George and Inez Mertz in addition to several nieces and nephews.
Jason was an avid family man who found joy spending much of his time in nature hunting, fishing, kayaking, and riding his motorcycle. A long portion of his career was spent driving truck for Griffin Transportation which he loved. His favorite place to visit was Northern Michigan where he created lasting memories with his family and friends.
The family asks that donations be made in memory of Jason Van Slooten to Harbor Hospice for the comfort they provided in the final moments of his life.
