OBITUARY:John A. Bergez, 65, of Scottville, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Ludington. John was born October 3, 1946 in Fountain to John L. “Jack” and Meredith “Mert” (VanSickel) Bergez. He was a graduate of Mason County Central Schools and served his country as a member of the United States Air Force until his discharge in April of 1965. He worked as a carpenter for most of his life.John is survived by his children Tina Hills of West Fork, AK, Jenny Bergez of Greenfield, WI, Greg & Casi Walters of Grey Court, SC, Rick & Cheri Hayes of Gravette, AK and JD & Shelly Bergez of Free Soil; fourteen grandchildren; one great grandson; his sisters Eloise & Tony Sovis, Elaine Reader and Karen Bergez; and his brother Mike Bergez .A funeral service for John will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville. His family will meet with friends from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to his family.
