John's Obituary:John L. Wagner, aged 60 of Ludington, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home. John was born on March 27, 1953 in Chicago to John and Gloria (Hackert) Wagner, and married Pamela J. Ley on March 1, 1975 at the Glasgow Village United Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked at National Foods in St. Louis as a meat cutter before returning to Ludington and working at Prevo’s Market until his retirement. John and his brother Stephen and their families operated an Asparagus farm together for over 16 years, ending the operation just last year. Besides farming, John enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing as much as possible. He was preceded in death by his father John, and his father-in-law Myron Ley. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 38 years Pamela, his children Jason (Shannon) Wagner of Edwardsville, Illinois, Jeffrey (Heather) Wagner of Free Soil, and Stacie Walker of Traverse City, his grandchildren Breana Wagner and Kameryn Wagner, his mother Gloria “Pat” Wagner of Ludington, his sister Cindy (Robert) Kapcia of Traverse City, his brothers Stephen (Rosemary) Wagner of Ludington, and Mark (Danielle) Wagner of Mason, his mother-in-law Mary Ley of St. Louis, Missouri, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.A Memorial Service will be held for John at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 24 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Scottville, with Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Friends may meet with his family for a time of visitation on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church. Those who wish to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider Harbor Hospice or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
