Judith Ann Brown's Obituary
Judith Ann Brown age 86 of Ludington, formerly of Ashley, passed away August 15, 2023 at the Lake Michigan Senior Assisted Living in Ludington. Judy was born on June 23, 1937 at home near Ashley, the daughter of Bernice and Marsha Marie (Weston) Camburn. She graduated in 1954 from Ashley High School and following graduation, worked in Lansing before working at the A&P grocery store, and then for Sealed Power in St. John’s. In 1976, she graduated from Mid-Michigan Community College with her degree as a LPN and began her nursing career at the Gratiot Community Hospital, Brown’s Nursing Home, and Ashley Nursing Home before her retirement. In 1955, Judy married Lloyd W. Bearup and they were blessed with children Robin, Scott, and Chad .
In 1988, Judy married George Edward Brown in Chapin, Michigan and together they spent many years touring on their motorcycle through the Western and Southwestern states, often with the Michigan Road Riders, enjoying many camping trips with them. Judy loved adventure and even in her final days could be found running the streets of the lakeshore on her mobilized Scooter. She loved to talk and was nicknamed “Downtown Judy Brown “for her fun loving demeanor.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially going to their sporting events.
Judy will be greatly missed by her children Robin (Roger) Stoddard of Higgins Lake, Scott (Colleen) Bearup of Ludington, and Chad Bearup of Brownsville, TX. She will also be remembered by her stepson Barry (Tammy) Brown of San Antonio, TX.; her sister, Dorothy Fisk of Panama City, FL.; her 9 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 14 step great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband George( Ed), her parents Bernice and Marie, and her infant brother Clive.
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated for Judy at a date to be announced later.
