Kelly L. Lemire's Obituary
Kelly LeRoy Lemire Sr. age 63 of Fountain died on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at home. Kelly was born on July 7, 1962 in Ludington, the son of Richard and Ella (Padgett) Lemire. He graduated from Mason County Central High School with the class of 1980 as co-valedictorian with Connie Mattox, and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Michigan Technological University.
While working during the summer of 1980 at Stokely Van Camp cannery in Scottville, Kelly was introduced by his future mother-in-law to Candy Ann Riffle. They married on May 28, 1983 and were blessed with five wonderful children and 18 grandchildren - each of whom he loved deeply, and enjoyed spending time with. After retiring from the USPS in 2024, Kelly spent this past year going through pictures and newspaper clippings reminiscing with family about wonderful childhood memories. Kelly's faith was the foundation of his life, raising his family with strong Christian values. He was a longtime member of Bachelor Evangelical Covenant Church and currently served the congregation as Vice-President.
Kelly will be greatly missed by his mother Ella; his wife Candy; his children Rebekah (Kyle) Jacobson, Hope (Samuel) Sagers, Alaina (David) Wyman, Kelly (Rachel) Lemire Jr., and Naaman (Katrina) Lemire; his grandchildren Alivia, Bradley, Joseph, Lilly, Eric, Matthew, Abigail, Grace, Naaman Jr., Rose, Faith, Joanna, Ariana, Gabriella, Ivy, Selah, and Roland; his siblings Tommy Lemire, Debby (Clarence) Gajewski, Richy (Kara) Lemire, and Tammy (Max) Longcore; his brothers-in-law Norman (Lisa) Riffle Jr., and Marc (Betsy) Riffle; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kelly was preceded in death by his father Richard Lemire; his in-laws Norman and Lois Riffle and granddaughter Mercy.
Funeral services will be held for Kelly at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 23 at Bachelor Evangelical Covenant Church with Pastor Rick Harrell officiating. Burial will take place at Fountain Cemetery later this spring. Friends may meet with his family for a time of visitation on Friday starting at 11:00 am until time of services at the church.
