Kimberly Jean VanSickle's Obituary
OBITUARY:Kimberly Jean VanSickle, aged 52 of Scottville, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 28, 2010 at her home. Kimberly was born in Ludington on October 9, 1957, the youngest daughter of Harvey and Joyce (Krill) Goff, graduated from Mason County Eastern High School with the Class of 1976, and furthered her education at West Shore Community College. She formerly worked for the Grand Valley Co-op Credit Union in Ludington, and for Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Scottville. On October 13, 2001, she married Tom VanSickle at White Pine Village, and he survives her. Kimberly was a friendly outgoing person who always had time to talk and laugh with you. She loved being involved in her children’s lives, their school activities, and even the Boy Scouts. She was always willing to help out in any way she could. Kimberly enjoyed camping with Tom and the kids, fishing, hiking, and kayaking, and in her busy schedule, still found the time to decorate her home and work in her garden. Quilting was one of the passions in her life, getting together with her family and friends to share stories and laughter. She and Tom would often go for long rides together, enjoying each other’s company and the company of her little dog, Lexi. Kimberly will be lovingly remembered by her husband Tom; her children Joshua Walker of Ann Arbor, Gabriel (Kelly) Walker of Zebulon, North Carolina, and Kaitlin Walker at home; her sisters Judy Forman and Linda (Jon) Franquist all Ludington; her Mother-in-law Dorothy VanSickle of Fountain; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held for Kimberly at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 1 at the Scottville United Methodist Church with her pastor, the Rev. Jack Conklin officiating. Burial will take place at Fountain Cemetery. Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society in Kimberly’s name.
