Marilyn Jean Helms' Obituary
Marilyn Jean Helms aged 84 of Ludington, formally of Pierson, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 27, 2020. Marilyn was born February 14, 1936 in Pierson, the daughter of Franklin and Mary (Johnson) Neve.
"Tootie," the name everyone knew her by, loved camping and rock picking on the beach of Lake Superior. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerald Helms, her granddaughter Marilyn Ward, her brother Carmen Neve, and her sister Linda Buckley.
Surviving Marilyn are her children Jerald (Nancy) Helms and Carmen (Richard) Barrett; grandchildren Amy (Jim) English, Katherine (Steve Bridges) Helms, Tiffany (Adam) Lepley, Jennifer (Jason) Stayner, Holly (Jeff Dann) Baker, Jeremiah (Kari Blamer) Barrett, Jason (Mckenzie Mangold) Barrett, Danielle (Exodus Phyr) Barrett, Tia (James) Stevens, Eric (Courtney) Porter and Chris Porter; several great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren;
her siblings Franklin (Nancy) Neve, and Jacquelyn Gage; along with several nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank Hospice of Michigan for the great care and thoughtfulness during this time.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will be held at Pierson Cemetery. A gathering to celebrate Tootie's life will be held at 2:00 pm on October 18th at Ensley Park in Howard City. Please consider memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan or a local Animal Shelter.
