Mary Ann Listing's Obituary
Mary Ann Listing, aged 72 of Scottville, died Sunday, August 17, 2008. Mary Ann was born on July 25, 1936 in Gary, Indiana to Peter Frank and Ann Eve (Kavaluskis) Casper, and graduated from Scottville High School with the class of 1954. On October 5, 1963, she married Walter “Skeets” Listing in Ludington, and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1997. Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Peter Casper in 2003. Mary Ann previously worked for Schramm’s Bakery, and Star Watch Case, and was currently employed at the North Country Café in Scottville. Under the pen name of “Delta Dawn” she wrote a column for the Ludington Daily News for several years. She enjoyed listening to the Scottville Clown Band, especially when Skeeter was alive, and loved caring for her beloved cats. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Patricia (Gottlieb) Mertz of Kenosha, WI, her special sister Karan Nash of Ludington and Florida, her nephew Steven (Peggy) Mertz of Kenosha, her niece Laura Ann (Matthew) Giese of Indianapolis, IN, her great niece and nephew Michael and Sara Mertz, and many friends throughout the community.
