Michael Stanley Wolfe's Obituary
Michael Stanley Wolfe “Mikey” age 58 of Manistee walked on to the spirit world February 9, 2024. Michael was born on November 16, 1965 in Ludington, the son of Emil J. and Jacquelyn E. (Kelsey) Wolfe. He graduated from Brazoswood High School in Clute, TX with the class of 1986.
Michael was an Elder of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. He was very proud to be Ottawa. He moved to Texas as a teen but moved back to Michigan to be closer to family. Michael worked at both the Little River Casino and the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. In his spare time, he loved muscle cars, going to car shows, and laying down some rubber whenever possible. Had a great love for his family and was a “favorite uncle” too many, his love for them was more like a second father. He was unmistakably known for his quick wit, humorous stories, and one-of-a-kind dance moves.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Emil Jr. and Jacquelyn; his paternal grandparents Emil Sr. and Sophie; his maternal grandparents Julius, Marion & Jake; and several beloved aunts and uncles and a nephew. He will be forever missed by his brothers and sisters Emil John Wolfe III, Joseph Wolfe, and Verna (Albert) Pena all of Texas, Dawn (Melvin) Wolfe-Rogers of Benzonia, and Julie (Jessie) Wolfe of Manistee; his nieces and nephews Emilie Wolfe, Coy Lange, Kimberley Ogden, David Johnson, Aaron and Monica Novitski, Joseph Garza, Chunky Rodriguez, Josclyn, Jalissa, Jacob, Jasmine, Jacquelyn, and Jessie Cabarrubia; several great nieces and nephews; his Godmother Dorothy Lange; his aunts Lori (Terry) Dolley, Darlene (Steve) Lund, Marlene (Gary) Wolfe-Yoder, and Lynn Wolfe; along with many beloved cousins and great friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Michael at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 17 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer with Rev. Daniel DePew presiding. Burial will take place for Michael on May 28, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Riverside Cemetery in Custer where he will be laid to rest next to his mother, Jacquelyn.
All are welcome to join his family for visitation on Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the church.
