Nancy Hogenson's Obituary
Nancy Ann Hogenson, 74, longtime resident of Ludington,, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017. She was born Feb. 25, 1942 in Ludington, the only child of Hartford and Lillian Pappe.
Nancy was an avid horsewoman. As a member of the Mason County Saddle Club, she dedicated her life to her love of raising and showing Appaloosa horses and AKC Australian shepherd dogs. For many years, Nancy worked with children as a 4-H leader. In the past few years, Nancy took great joy being employed as a caregiver for Billy Smedley, whom she loved very much. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Nancy is survived by her four children, Susan Hogenson and husband Mark Boon, Jacqueline Beyer, Jerrald and Shannon Hogenson, and Penny Hogenson Cope. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a sister-in-law, Joan Ezdebski. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hartford and Lillian Pappe, her husband of 55 years, John D. Hogenson and precious grandson, Michael Hogenson. In addition, the family would like to extend a special thank-you to longtime family friend Maynard Bidwell for his many years of help on the farm.
Please join us for a celebration of Nancy’s life on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 121 Nelson Road, Ludington, Michigan. Service will be officiated by Pastor Ryan White with a luncheon to follow.
