Nathan Lee Sheldon's Obituary
Nathan Lee Sheldon aged 94 of Ludington passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 20, 2016. He was born on October 22, 1921 in Battle Creek, the son of Clare and Vera (Gould) Sheldon and served his country during WWII with the Army Air Corps. In 1943 he married LaDuska Higdon in Seattle, WA and they celebrated 59 years together before LaDuska preceded him in death in 2002.
Nathan worked over 30 years for Post Cereal in Battle Creek and in his retirement, moved to the home he built in Ludington in 1992 where he enjoyed fishing on Hamlin Lake and riding motorcycles. His greatest joy came in the presence of his family. Nathan will be lovingly remembered by his children Jim Sheldon of Ludington, Natalie Casterline of Bellevue, Paula Sheldon of Ocala, FL, and Julie Moore of Hastings, along with four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 25 at the Wilcox Cemetery in Nashville, MI. The US Army Casualty Detail will provide honors during the services. Those who wish to remember Nathan with a contribution are asked to consider Harbor Hospice.
