Richard Arnold Cipcic's Obituary
RICHARD'S OBITUARY:Richard A. Cipcic, aged 72 of Walhalla, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 24, 2011. Richard was born on April 3, 1939 in Battle Creek, MI to George and Margaret (Wine) Cipcic, and following his high school graduation, enlisted with the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Independence. Richard has celebrated marriage with Georgia (Maser) for the past 35 years, and together they have operated the Duck Blind Café in Scottville, named after Richard’s large duck collection. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending as much time as possible pursuing his passions, was a life member of the Delton VFW Post, a member of the American Legion in Holiday, Florida, and was a former member of the Mason County Fin & Feather Club. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. He will be greatly missed by his wife Georgia, and will be remembered by his daughters Tina Marie Ashley, Cathy Nichols, Laurie (Bill) Lirosnes, and Valerie Parra all of Battle Creek; his stepchildren Dee McGuffie and Tina Brownlee both of Battle Creek, and Kimberly Lafon of Florida; 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren; his stepfather Chester Wilk of Battle Creek; his sister Carol (Alex) Machaskee of Cleveland, OH; and his brother James Cipcic also of Battle Creek. Friends may meet with Georgia and their family for a time of visitation on Monday, January 2 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the care of his family.
