I got to know Doc pretty well from his coming to the Wellness Center at the college. I used to buy eggs from him and also got pheasants to release on our property. He was an upstanding guy who will surely be missed.

Doc enrolled in a couple of my photography classes at WSCC in the late 70’s. He was a natural talent, intelligent and full of curiosity, with a drive to learn everything he could about photo composition and nature photography. He often brought his impressive photos to class to share with the other students. I always looked forward to our after class conversations, and enjoyed his quiet and humble manner. Whenever I would bump into Doc over the years, he greeted me like we were just continuing an interrupted conversation. We weren’t close friends, but he was always so respectful and friendly. I truly enjoyed knowing him. Rest in peace, Doc.
