Robert Lynn Hopkins' Obituary
Robert L. "Hoppy" Hopkins, aged 76 of Branch, went to be with his Lord on Thursday evening, August 13, 2008. Robert was born on September 3, 1931 in Muskegon to Raymond and Edna (Wright) Hopkins, and married Dora Signs on June 28, 1952 in Muskegon. They have celebrated 56 years together. Robert worked 36 years for Berghuis Produce in Muskegon, and the last 11 years for the U.S. Forest Service in Baldwin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Berniece Hallberg and her husband Ed. He will be greatly missed by his wife Dora, his children Barbara (Russell) Hoeker of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Judi (David) Bowyer of Twin Lake, and Scott (Rhonda) Hopkins of Ravenna; his grandchildren Gregory (Emily) Hoeker, Forrest Bowyer, Krystal (Craig) DeCatur, Robert (Dana) Bowyer, Lindsey Bowyer, Ryan (Tara) Hopkins, and Kristin (Mark) Adams; his great-grandchildren Brenna, Ezra, Kayla, and Logan; his sister Jeannie Baumflek, and his brother Jack Hopkins both of Muskegon. A memorial service will be held for Robert at Noon on Monday, August 18 at the Baldwin Baptist Church, 560 7th St., Baldwin with his pastor, the Rev. David Stiles officiating. Friends may meet with Robert’s family for a time of visitation on Monday morning from 10:30 AM until noon at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan ~ Mason County, or to the Baldwin Baptist Church.
