Roberta J Schumacher's Obituary
Roberta J. Schumacher aged 81 of Ludington passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility. Roberta was born on January 1, 1934 in Custer, the daughter of Joseph E. and Jessie B. (Martin) Leete, and graduated from Ludington High School with the class of 1954. She furthered her education taking nursing classes before moving to California with her sister Dolores. In California, she worked as an Electronics Welder for Ford Motor Company and Otis Elevator. In 1964, she married her longtime friend Jack Schumacher. Even though their marriage did not last, their friendship never wavered. Roberta returned to Ludington in 1996 and worked for Wal-Mart for a few years before enjoying her retirement.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother William Leete. She will be greatly missed by her sister Dolores Leete of Custer and California, her former husband Jack Schumacher of Pentwater, and many good friends and neighbors.
A Memorial Service will be held for Roberta in the spring and burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington. Those who wish to make memorial contributions may make them to a charity of their choice.
