Sally Ann Barnett's Obituary
Sally Ann Barnett age 72 passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer over a number of years. Sally was born on January 8, 1954 in Sandusky, Michigan, the daughter of Donald and Maybelle “Sally” Bradshaw. She grew up in the Lexington, MI area attending Croswell-Lexington High School where she served as Drum Major for their band and was selected as the Homecoming Queen. She and her family later moved to the Baldwin area where she met Vince Barnett. They were married on June 16, 1979 and have celebrated 46 wonderful years together.
Sally was an avid gardener and birder and looked forward to the migrating birds returning each spring. Her joy of birding was infectious as she recruited Vince and their son Andrew for the annual Mason County Audubon Migratory Bird count on Mother’s Day. Sally also enjoyed spending time with family, especially her two granddaughters who affectionately called her “Grammy”! She loved to see them dance and was so proud to see how quickly they learned new moves and gained confidence in themselves to perform on stage. The girls meant everything to Sally, and even when she was weakened to the point she could barely keep her eyes open, would light up when they walked through the door.
Sally worked at Foster’s Market in Scottville as the Grocery Manager until they closed, and for 17 years as an Optical Technician at Riemer Eye Center in Ludington.
Sally will be greatly missed by her beloved husband Vince; her son Andrew and his wife Lisa; her precious granddaughters Haley and Riley; her sisters Toni, Vickie, Margie; and her brother Donald.
In keeping with Sally’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Sally will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery in Scottville.
