Samuel D. Morse's Obituary
Samuel Donald Morse aged 46 of Fountain, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Sam was born on July 4, 1970 in Ludington, the son of Harold and Norma (Gilman) Morse, and graduated from Mason County Eastern High School with the class of 1989. Following graduation, he enlisted with the US Army where he served as a paratrooper stationed in Italy. Sam later graduated from West Shore Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Welding Technologies and was a certified Union welder for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, watching many sports especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spending time with his family and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his infant son Nicholas. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Justin, his parents Harold and Norma Morse of Fountain, his brother and sisters Brenda (Tom) Knudsen of Ludington, Dan (Tammy) Morse of Fountain, Sally (Joel) Lipps of Scottville, his nieces and nephews Marissa and Chyanne Knudsen, Mandi and Sam Lipps, and Augusta (Fred) Alayon currently serving in the US Navy in Japan, his special friend Bobbi Latty, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held for Sam at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 17 at the Bachelor Evangelical Covenant Church in Fountain with Rev. Norm Letsinger officiating. Burial will follow at Bachelor Cemetery. Friends may meet with his family for a time of visitation on Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Wyman Funeral & Cremation Services – Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville and on Thursday morning from 10:00 am until time of services at the church.
Those who wish to remember Sam with a memorial donation are asked to consider his family to assist with expenses, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
