I remember she made the best "apple-witch " sandwiches (slices of apple on peanut butter/white bread) at South Hamlin School... and was the best cook..(ahh.. the mac and cheese). none of the pre-package stuff... and was so so kind to all of us kids.. what a treat it was to help out in the "kitchen"... many many fond memories.. We always enjoyed visiting Mrs. Wanderer over the years. Super nice lady. Our parents would always reminisce about the early days on the Bayou when they would meet. She even got our family to start drinking "cherry juice concentrate" to help with arthritis. It was nice that so many of her family were nearby to care for her. We think of her every time we drive past the house on the way to our cottage.
