Thelma May Stark's Obituary
OBITUARY:Thelma May Stark, aged 95 of Custer, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center in Ludington. Thelma was born on August 24, 1914 in Bitely to Charles A. and Bessie M. (Mendenhall) Riffle, and married Earl K. Stark on April 25, 1936 in Reed City. They celebrated 60 years together before Earl preceded her in death on November 18, 1996. Thelma was also preceded in death by her sisters Beulah Marrison, Nina Elizabeth Riffle, and Glendora Ray; her brothers Russell, Thurman, Roger, and H.B. “Bud” Riffle, and her sister-in-law Sadie Riffle. She retired from Star Watch Case on June 3, 1977, and enjoyed gardening and her flowers, crocheting, knitting, and working on puzzles. Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her son Boyd (Linda) Stark of Scottville; her grandchildren Roxane (Ken) Thrailkill, and Brian (Cindy) Stark; her great-grandchildren Tiffany LeClair, Brittany and Trevor Thrailkill, Jordan, Nolan, and Savanna Stark; her great, great-granddaughter Ava LeClair; her sisters Betty (Bill) Courtland, B. Marguerite Renwick, Beatrice Riffle, and Corinne (Joe) Lavas; her brothers Charles Riffle, and Curtis (Ruth) Riffle; her sisters-in-law Marian Riffle, and Io Stark; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held for Thelma at the Bachelor Cemetery at a later date. There will be no funeral home visitation or services.
