Theo Neil Miller's Obituary
Theo Neil “Ted” Miller aged 84 of Scottville died peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2017. Ted was born on March 28, 1933 in Newaygo County to Neil and Edith Miller and served his country during the Korean Conflict with the US Army. On February 5, 1968, he married Sylvia Newhardt in Grand Rapids and they have celebrated 39 years together.
Ted loved to hunt and fish, and as a member of the Mason County Fin & Feather Club, also enjoyed shooting sports. Ted was the owner of Fibre Form Swimming Pools in Grand Rapids for many years before operating the Pool & Spa Center in Grand Rapids and Scottville. Ted also enjoyed restoring and remodeling homes. He and Sylvia also built a home together on Seamon Lake.
Ted will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sylvia, his children Ted W. (Laura) Miller of Nebraska, Tom C. Miller, and Shari (Scott) Fortier all of Grand Rapids, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, his brother Richard (Kathy) Miller of Grand Rapids, and several nieces, nephews, and great friends.
Funeral services will be held for Ted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, August 8 at the Scottville United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Hodgeson officiating. Burial will take place at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 9 at Kent Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids. Friends may meet with his family for a time of visitation on Tuesday morning from 11:00 am until time of services at the church. Those who wish to remember Ted with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Scottville United Methodist Church.
