Virginia Latocha's Obituary
Virginia Latocha, aged 86 of Venice, Florida, formerly a longtime resident of Ludington, died early Wednesday morning, July 22, 2009 in Venice. Virginia was born on July 25, 1922 in Detroit, the daughter of John and Celia Kurnick. On August 20, 1944, she married John Latocha Jr. and they celebrated 54 years together before John preceded her in death in 1998. Together they built and operated Latocha and Co., Inc. in Ludington for over 25 years. They were proud supporters of the community and many local organizations throughout the area. Virginia was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Sandra Dumas, and Elaine (Al) Deering both of Scottville; her beloved grandchildren Scott (Kathy) Dumas of Ludington, Lisa (Jack) Murchie of Scottville, Ryan (Karen) Dumas of Holland, Jamie (Justin) Stewart of Lakeland, FL, and Jesse (Tiffany) Deering of Troy; her great-grandchildren Joshua and Melissa Dumas, Austin Murchie, Kennedy and Kamryn Dumas, and Makenzie and Micah Stewart; her sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Tom Moline of Ellenton, FL; her brother and sister-in-law Bob and Connie Kurnick of Redford; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her husband John, she was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Richard.
