William Richard Arnold's Obituary
William “Bill” Richard Arnold Sr. passed away at his home in Roscommon Michigan, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on October 29, 1946 in Brant, Michigan to Frank Daniel and Blanche Pearl (Wilson) Arnold and grew up in Owosso, Michigan.
Bill served his country with the United States Army as a heavy vehicle driver during the Vietnam Conflict, serving with the 88th Transportation Battalion. After leaving the Army, he excelled at mathematics and became an auto mechanic. He worked at General Motors, and retired from Lear Jet in Elsie, Michigan.
Bill loved nature, and often spent his days engaging in outdoor activities with his family - enjoying camping, fishing, and hunting.
Bill was an artist who painted beautiful landscapes and abstract works. He sculpted rustic ceramics, happily attending pottery and painting classes at West Shore Community College in Scottville, Michigan. He attended these classes with his son, William, and his daughter Patricia. He encouraged his family to make art, and they were influenced by his creativity.
Bill was a devoted husband to Carol Ann (Bettinger) Arnold, in whose loving arms he has returned, reunited in heaven.
He is mourned by his son William Richard Arnold Jr.; his daughter Patricia Ann Arnold; two granddaughters Jessica Leigh Arnold and Lisa Renée Arnold; his sister Sharon Kay Sloan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held for Bill at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 28 at Bachelor Cemetery in Fountain. Those who wish to make a memorial donation are asked to please consider the care of his family.
