William Dale Miller's Obituary
William Dale Miller, aged 50 of Free Soil, passed away at his home on Monday, August 30, 2010. William was born on June 30, 1960 in Onekama to Cecil J. and Alberta M. (Boomer) Miller, graduated from Free Soil High School, and attended Muskegon Technological School training as a mechanic. He served with the United States Coast Guard for 5 years, returning to the Free Soil area upon his discharge. William worked at Stokely’s Cannery as a mechanic for several years. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible hunting, fishing, and photographing the areas around his home, and as a writer, was in the process of writing a novel for publication. He was a strong advocate for AA, and was associated with the chapter in Walhalla. William was loved by all who knew him, always willing to lend a hand, and was respected by his family and friends for his encouragement and good advice. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Gary, Albert, Jim, Donald, Charles, Clarence and Harold Miller; and his sisters Mattie James, and Helen Clark. William will be greatly missed by his daughter Michelle Bailey and her husband Jason of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; his brothers Robert (Faye) Miller, and Kenneth Miller all of Wyoming; his sisters Alice Berge of Mesa, AZ, Joyce Moran of Tecumseh, Judy White of Manistee, and Mildred (Emmett) Bossing of California; his former wife Sharon of Las Vegas, NV; his best friend Phil (Dawn) Wertz of Manistee; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held for William at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 3, 2010 at the Free Soil Pentecostal Church with Pastor Ray Haner officiating. Private burial will take place at the Meade Twp. Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to William’s family in care of Stephens Funeral Home.
