William Martin Schulz's Obituary
OBITUARY:William Martin Schulz III, aged 50 of Custer, was called home by his Lord and Savior, October 29, 2011 at the University of Michigan Hospital after a long illness. Billy was born April 13, 1961 to Carol Bennett & William “Buddy” Schulz II in Ludington, Michigan. Billy attended Custer Schools and worked most of his life at Johnson Auto Repair/Sales in Custer. He was well known for his beautiful paint jobs and repairing cars throughout Mason County.On October 3, 1993 Billy married Cynthia Moran, his friend and soul mate. They just celebrated their 18th Anniversary prior to his death.Bill loved raising and caring for his family. He loved his kids more than anything. He loved the early mornings, watching a new day come to life and all of nature’s beauty, from a tiny frog to a mighty oak tree. He loved to hunt and fish, cook the game, restore old cars, and play hours- long games of Monopoly with Keelie his daughter. He always had a kind word, even when he felt at his worst. Billy attended St. Mary’s Church in Custer.Billy will be forever sadly missed by all who knew and loved him, for his courage and great sense of humor. His family will greatly mourn his short life. Billy was preceded in death by his son Jedediah D. Schulz, brother Jimmy Schulz, and grandparents Mary & Bill Bennett.He is survived by his wife Cindi (Moran) Schulz, daughter Keelie Schulz at home, daughter Lacey Williams, who he raised like his own since age 5 and her partner Dino DaSaro, grandson Camdyn of Walhalla, mother Carol Bennett Johnson, Father William M. (Jeannie) Schulz II of Ludington, brother Bruce Schulz of Ludington, sisters Marilynn Schulz of Muskegon, Luanne (Alan) Bonser of Ludington, Shelia (Rory Garret) Johnson of Custer and his nieces and nephew.The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Bill at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may meet with Bill’s family for a time of visitation on Friday morning from 10 until time of Mass at the church.
