I just found out in the MTU alumni magazine. I knew Hans at MTU and we graduated together. I'm very sorry to think he suffered on this earth. He was such a good soul. Marianne Emmendorfer, classmate
Hello Mr. and Mrs. Leese and family,
We want to extend our sympathies to your family. We are so sorry for your loss. My husband and I attended both West Shore Comm. College and MTU with Hans. Hans was a also a friend of my brother, Ron Peterson. We enjoyed his company. He was a quiet young man and we loved being able to coax a good chuckle out of him. :)
I went to the hospital website to realize that he may have been being cared for because of Alzheimer's. If this is the case, I am sure you have been suffering for some time. We just lost my mother-in-law to this and can only imagine the pain in losing your child to this awful disease.
We have been praying for you and your family and will continue to do so. May you find peace and comfort in the Lord himself and your many memories of Hans.
Warm regards,
Larry and Jennifer (Peterson) Richert

The Rehabilitation Team at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee sends deepest sympathy to the family of Hans Leese. He came to us during his recovery from a very dibilitating disease for rehabilitation. A gentle man, with great intellect and talent, never complained and demonstrated patience and composure, a reflection of his character when faced with his challenges. He used to stop in on his way to his parents to visit and kept in touch with us for many years. We appreciate Hans and we are deeply saddened by his passing. God Bless the family during this difficult time and bring you comfort.
To our friend Hans; God speed my friend, now all roads are easy, wishing you peace.
May God Bless the memory of a remarkable man.

A gentle, kind soul whose quiet demeanor hid a sharp mind and a subtle sense of humor. In the time that I worked with Hans, I knew him to be a person of integrity and compassion. Even now in this time of sorrow, thinking of the him brings a smile to my face.
His love of nature took him to the some of the most beautiful places in the country. I pray that his journey to those beautiful places will no longer be hampered by the physical limitations that he endured.
My deepest condolences to the family.
